I’ve had several people ask me over the past few days how I set up my Twitter header image. It’s deceivingly easy to do from Twitter’s mobile app, and relatively easy from Twitter’s website as well. Using the header feature, just like in Facebook, is a fun way to incorporate alternate imagery into your branding. Stick with a consistent profile image so when your tweets come up in the feed people immediately can recognize they are yours. Let’s face it, we’re all scanners. There’s just no way we can take in all the information that we come across in a day. Having a consistent recognizable profile image makes it much easier for scanners to see it’s you! Honestly though, that can be boring for us the content creators. Now that we have a header option, there is no need to feel locked in to just your profile image. Here’s your chance to shine! Change it up daily, weekly, monthly, seasonably, it’s totally up to you.
Here is a quick tutorial on how to set up the new Twitter header from a mobile device.
