Sometimes blogging can become overwhelming. With the press emails, outfit shoots, editing, and events, it can all get to be a little too much. I won’t even factor work into the equation. That’s its own animal. So how do you continue to stay inspired and out of the scary land of blogger burnout?

 

1. Take a break!

Whether you just need to take short walk away from your computer or a full-fledged blogging hiatus, take some time for yourself. Chances are if you are feeling burnout, you probably need to take a breather. Just be sure to let your readers know that you are taking some time so they don’t worry about you!

 

2.Think about it!

Once you get some downtime, think about what’s causing your burnout.  Are you posting too often? Do you have too many priorities?  Recently, I felt overburdened and just generally exhausted. I felt uninspired and didn’t really feel a calling to publish a post. After I thought about it, I realized I was attending too many events. After getting home late, I was too tired to do anything else. Now I have a limit of two events per week.

 

3. Do something! 

As bloggers, we oftentimes get too caught up in blogging and forcing life into a blog post. While it provides great content, sometimes we have to remember to actually stop and smell the roses and not just photograph them. It’s especially true for anyone that instagrams their food. Wouldn’t it be nice just to dig in and not photograph it first? You’ll be much more inspired and relaxed if you can actually live your life without the blogging obligation looming over you.
