About Kaitlin of ChickadeeSays

I’m a 24-year-old self-proclaimed corporate gypsy currently living in and loving Denver, Colorado. I moved well over a dozen times as a child for my father’s job, and I really think that positively affected how I see the world. I love meeting new people and discovering new things, and blogging was a way to meet an incredible community and curate a collection of things I love. I started ChickadeeSays in January of this year as a creative outlet and a way to share my ever-changing life with those I love all over the globe, but it has grown into something so much more! ChickadeeSays chronicles my adventures in food, crafts, and life, with a special spotlight on my gorgeous Samoyed Tinkerbelle.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I love that I am part of a community that celebrates individuality and creativity. Every blogger has his or her own unique voice, and their own spin on what makes their creative heart happy. You can share what you are passionate about and can always find an audience that appreciates your passions as much as you do.

What inspires you and what you post about on your blog?

Honestly, beauty. As cliché as that may sound, I think that the pursuit of beauty is one of the reasons we have a need to create. For instance, I find it incredible that I can combine a few ingredients, add heat, and stir and something beautiful comes into being. I like to share the beautiful things that I find in my personal life and that differs every week. My blog is heavy on the food content, but I love sharing DIY projects, the gorgeous places I explore with my dog Tinkerbelle, and whatever else happens to catch my eye.

What is one tool or trick that has helped you as a blogger?

I wouldn’t so much call it a trick, but I feel that my blog has grown because I love to interact with my readers and other bloggers. The blogging community, both the writers and those who follow our blogs, is really close knit, accepting, and helpful! So, essentially, the more you interact and the more you share, the quicker your blog will grow, fostering internet friendships in the same manner as you would friendships when you aren’t behind the screen.

How has the Blog Trends community helped you?

I’m a (relatively) new blogger and am self-taught when it comes to HTML, blog design, and the like. So I constantly have questions about seemingly silly little things, and someone in the Blog Trends community is always there to lend a helping hand (or link!) I especially love #BlogTrends chats, they are a great way to ask questions and meet other bloggers!
