Q1 Do you currently have ads on your blog? How did you determine where to place them & what to charge? #BlogTrends

@rachelmaleady: @blog_trends A1: I currently have one affiliate ad. The company approached me. I have only been blogging for 3 months.#blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A1 I have one. Fees are based on traffic, total online influence, and what people are willing to pay. #blogtrends

@ashia: A1 I do have ads on my blog. I did some research to discover what other blogs were charging. I also use project wonderful.#blogtrends

@starcrossedsmil: A1 I don’t currently have ads on my blog, but I did for a short period. They were in my right sidebar (3 cols) above the fold. #blogtrends

@justsitpretty: A1: I don’t currently have ads on my blog b/c I want to make sure what I advertise fits in with my brand and vice versa#blogtrends

@styleblacklabel: A1 I have one ad on my blog…all the way down at the footer. That is it. I’m not sure if I even want to add ads.#blogtrends

@NYConmymind: A1 I do not have ads becaue I don’t think they work and they clutter up my page #blogtrends

@SassyDianaMarie: A1) Still too newbish to have ads at this time but looking to advance to that level at some point for fun #blogtrends

@DigitalKaitlyn: A1 I don’t have ads, I personally haven’t found my niche well enough to find totally relevant ads I would want to display#blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A1 Most advertisers want their ad “above the fold,” or in the first screen before scrolling. #blogtrends

@danielle_framed: A1: Yes I have ads on my blogs! For prices I make sure they reflect how many followers I have & various price ranges available. #blogtrends

@coralandstripes: A1 I have monthly blogger swap ads. We promote one another for free using ads in our sidebars on a monthly basis.#blogtrends

@atlanticstyle: A1 Some of mine are affiliates but I do offer ad space that comes with a monthly rate. I place ads near the top of my sidebar. #blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A1 Because I blog for fun, I don’t chase advertising. Actually, I have more than 1 ad. I have some paid text links.#blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: A1 Yes. Before considering placement consider if they are a good fit for site. Fees based on traffic & influence.#blogtrends

@lindseywolff: @Blog_Trends A1: We limit our ads to 3 per month. Currently have a clothing sponsor&a friend up! I’m curious 2 hear abt ad rates #blogtrends

@smalltwnfashion: A1: I tried WordPress’s new ad program & hated how it messed up my blog. Ads that have nothing do w/ my content are useless IMO. #blogtrends

@KatiePetix: A1 right now I don’t have any, dislike the look of affiliate program ads & don’t have the time to reach out and manage ads yet#blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: I’ve tried commission junction, adsense and affiliate window… highest payout without a doubt for me has been skimlinks#blogtrends

@backngroovemom: @Blog_Trends a1: you can make more $ if you chase ads down yourself but it is a question of time, etc #blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: A1 If you use adsense, make sure you keep an eye on ad content. Do you really want real estate ads showing up on a fashion blog? #blogtrends

Q2 If you have ads how did you find advertisers? Do you use a service like commission junction or adsense? #BlogTrends

@Terry_McFly: @Blog_Trends A2 start with a service and then when you build up a large following brands will reach out to you to place ads#BLogTrends

@danielle_framed: A2: I use Google Adsense but it doesn’t do much. I’d much rather prefer to have ads from other bloggers & Etsy shops are great! #blogtrends

@CreativelyYours: @Blog_Trends Q2. I use pepperjam and Commission Junction…no leverage w/private business yet #BlogTrends

@gritandglamour: A2 @_IFB has lots of posts on affiliates and how to get started with monetizing your blog. #blogtrends

@discountthief: a2: not using an ad network, will solicit via direct sales #blogtrends

@QueeninHeels: Q2 I read about both Reward Style and Lyst on @_IFB #blogtrends

@HouseOfJeffers: A2 I use CJ and ol fashioned research. Visit the site you want as an advertiser and look into whether they run ads elsewhere #blogtrends

@starcrossedsmil: A2 For the ads I’ve placed on my site, either the shop or brand or a PR company has reached out to me and pitched their ideas #blogtrends

@ashia: A2 I get ads from Project Wonderful http://t.co/dPpAL2VX and linkshare plus companies occasionally contact me. #blogtrends

@blackblondeone: A2 I’ve used adsense and amazon marketplace. Again, I’d rather do flat fees over commission any day. #blogtrends

@jomariemalcolm: a2 Depending on the popularity of the blog, sometimes advertisers find you. Otherwise it’s our job to find the known channels #blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: A2 I’ve used services, companies & paid links. Companies have always approached me. If I work w/them, I disable other ads. #blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: A good rule of thumb is to look at CPM & the size of the company. If someone huge like YSL approaches you, ask for more $$$$$ #blogtrends

@styledelights: @passionfruitads is another place to rent/sell the blogspace to advertisers @Blog_Trends #blogtrends

Q3 Do you send out newsletters for your blog? Do you included paid ads in those? If so, how do you determine the rates?#BlogTrends

@danielle_framed: A3: I use @mailchimp to send out blog newsletters and it’s a huge hit. They look professional & have lots of info, but no ads #blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A3 I don’t do newsletters. Wish @PrttyShnySprkly were here to jump into this convo. #blogtrends

@nouvelle: A3 Haven’t done newsletters myself. What do you put in them? Content *not* featured on the blog? #blogtrends

@justsitpretty: A3: I don’t send out newsletters, but I don’t think it should be done if it’s going to be redundant &I’ve never seen ads in them #blogtrends

@ashia: A3 I don’t do an official newsletter but when I do a new post, @mailchimp sends out a email but there are no ads. #blogtrends

@starcrossedsmil: A3 I’ve never sent a newsletter. I’m curious- what kind of content do you put in there and how is it helpful to your blog?#blogtrends

@MissVersatile: A3) I do news letters for clients, I use Mailchimp for that, great tool , low cost-free haven’t done ones with outside ads yet#blogtrends

@closetfashionfx: A3 I tried mail chimp for my classroom blog to help update parents but haven’t found a reason yet for my fashion one#blogtrends

@Hera_Nyx: A3 ive thought about doing a newsletter…..haven’t solidified a direction. Do you add highlights from blog? #blogtrends

@discountthief: a3: staying away from newsletters. challenge w/coming up w/new content not already on the blog #blogtrends

Q4 Do you pay to advertise your own blog anywhere? If so, how did you decide to advertise where you did? #BlogTrends

@QueeninHeels: A4. I do not. With Twitter, FB, and other social media. I will get traffic for free or die trying. haha #blogtrends

@discountthief: a4: it’s something i’m strongly considering. will start w/bloggers who have a loyal audience, not a huge following#blogtrends

@danielle_framed: A4: Although $ is sometimes tight, I make sure to pay for at least 2 ad spaces on other blogs each month. I go for high traffic #blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: A4 Nope… haven’t paid for any advertising. That seems like cheating to me somehow. LOL Wait. I tried FB once. Not worth it. #blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A4 I have before, 1x on Blog Catalog. Didn’t help. Best advertising? Write a great how-to post and watch the retweets happen. #blogtrends

@coralandstripes: A4 Not currently. A blog that I really like and w/ similar content offered ads for $5-$10 today and I’m considering it.#blogtrends

@ScorchingStyle: A4. No, I am still way too small to promote my blog. Besides, I like knowing that only a few people see my learning curve!#blogtrends

@justsitpretty: A4: I haven’t b/c if I do I want to see some definite results and it would have to be a site that has influence &loyal followers#blogtrends

@KatiePetix: A4: I did once and it was a bust. didn’t get any extra traffic. c’est la vie! #blogtrends

@atlanticstyle: A4 I haven’t paid to advertise my own blog. I’ve used guest blogging, ad swaps, & directories/networks to get my blog out there. #blogtrends

@gritandglamour A4 Best advertising? Write a great how-to post and watch the retweets happen. #blogtrends

@gritandglamour: A4 Stumble Upon, Twitter, Pinterest—all great FREE blog advertising. Make your content compelling and people will share. #blogtrends

@katelynbrooke88: A4 If you’re paying to advertise, it’s important to take note of the interaction the blogger has with their current sponsors. #blogtrends

@QueeninHeels: A4. Use free resources. My FB page is at 3000+ fans thanks to friends and family sharing it and supporting me.#blogtrends

@danielle_framed: free ad swaps are another great way to advertise your blog! I offer them on my blog & so do many other bloggers#blogtrends

@blackblondeone: A4 I’m trying to bring in money and spend as little as possible. #blogtrends

Q5 If I want to pay to advertise my blog what are the most important 1st steps? What info should I request before paying?#BlogTrends

@danielle_framed: A5: Know what you’re getting for your money. Guest post, giveaway, and intros are all good ways for people to get to know you! #blogtrends

@fashables: A5. Understand what Google Adwords is. #blogtrends

@nouvelle: A5 Look at the reputation of the site/platform you’re advertising on. Is it going to be effective & engaging? #blogtrends

@blackblondeone: A5 Also know who you’re getting in bed with, so to speak. Know their terms, what they expect, other blogger’s experiences. #blogtrends

@styledelights: A5. Brand ur own blog first – what you will bring to the table to an advertiser – what’s ur USP? Answer these Qs before u start. #blogtrends

@BeautifullyInv: Q5 I wouldn’t do it. Don’t spend money to advertise your own blog when you can do so much for free. #blogtrends

@atlanticstyle: A5 Do you research on how much traffic people usually receive through this service or site- what’s their traffic?#blogtrends

@styledelights: A5 – U should know ur traffic,readers demography,even their profile,engagement level,ur top referring site, klout, page rank etc #blogtrends

@katelynbrooke88: A5 Ask for a media kit! If they regularly take sponsors and have experience with advertisers, they’ll have one!#blogtrends

@jomariemalcolm: a5 The basic question of value for money and ensure that you do your research to make sure that this is the best decision #blogtrends
